A valve is a mechanical device that controls the flow of fluid and is essential to ensure the normal operation of the fluid system. The following are some notes on the acceptance and maintenance of valves:
Acceptance:
Check whether the valve is leaking, check whether there is obvious liquid leakage around the valve, and pay attention to observe whether there are signs of gas leakage.
Check whether the valve is open or closed to control fluid flow when needed.
Check whether the valve has noise or vibration. Abnormal noise or vibration may mean that the valve has a problem and needs to be repaired or replaced in time.
Maintenance:
Long-term storage of the valve should be regularly checked, remove dirt, and in the processing surface coated with anti-rust oil.
After installation, regular inspection shall be carried out. The inspection items include the wear of the sealing surface, the wear of the trapezoidal thread of the valve stem and stem nut, whether the packing is outdated and invalid, the sealing performance test after the valve is overhauled and assembled, and the bolts on the flange and bracket. Valves in use need to check the bolts on the flange and bracket must not be short, the thread should be intact, not allowed to have loose phenomenon. If the fastening nut on the handwheel is found loose, it should be tightened in time. If the handwheel is lost, it is not allowed to be replaced by a live wrench, and it should be equipped in time. The packing gland is not allowed to tilt or have no preload clearance. Different types of valves may have different acceptance and maintenance requirements.
